Each day I list ten things that I am grateful for. It is a recent practice and oftentimes I give thanks that I discovered Osho and the impact his powerful active meditations have on me. When I meditate I get a taste of my inner Being.
When I first started meditating I could not sit in silence at all, the very idea was too much for me, but OSHO Active meditations bridged that gap for me and they gave me a taste of bliss.
What I have not considered until very recently is my humanness. The part of me that misses the mark, the part that judges or gets filled with resentment, who compares or who does all sorts of human actions, thoughts, and doings
I have been very harsh on the human side of myself and often unforgiving. I am glad though as I deepen into meditation and experience more of my inner Being, compassion for myself arises and I can no longer be as harsh or as critical of myself. How can I when I experience this inner beauty that is housed in my human form? They are part of each other.
I recognise that the soul continues on and this human form will die away at some point but one of the things I appreciate about Osho’s teachings is his focus on both parts of ourselves: our body/mind and our soul. Each is important in its own right, and one should not be placed lower or above the other. I see the sacredness in my humanness. It was my perceived faults that caused me pain which in turn caused me to go out and find a cure for my deep unhappiness. In that seeking, I came across Osho. In an OSHO Evening Meeting talk, Osho referred to it as ‘divine discontent.’ So apt!
I was deeply and divinely discontented. I was in pain and I wanted it to cease. What came to me was so much more. So yes I see and care for the Human in me, and I give thanks when I experience the Being in me. I love this dance between them both and I often get to experience it, whether I am in the garden or nature; in the OSHO International Meditation Center in Pune, India, or when I join this beautiful community online on the first Sunday of each month.
If you wish to join me for the next online day of OSHO Meditations, it is on 1 September 2024. You can learn more about it at https://booking.osho.com/meditation-days/
I hope to see you there.
